One price. Everything in it.

No tier above this one, no seat count, nothing metered. Here is what that buys you, piece by piece.

$34.99 · one-time · everything included

plus applicable taxes, shown at checkout

Zerds is in beta on all three platforms. It works and it is what I use every day, but you will find rough edges.

Everything is included
There is no tier above this one and no feature held back for a Pro version, because there isn't a Pro version.
One payment
Not per month, not per seat, and not per hour of audio.
It keeps working offline
There is no licence server, which means there is nothing that can be switched off later.
No Zerds account
On a Store build, Windows confirms through your Microsoft account that you own it. That is the Store, not Zerds.

What you get, named

Both-Sides Capture
Your microphone and the system's own audio as two separate tracks on one timeline, from any app that makes sound. Scope it to a single app so notifications stay out, and set each channel's level and gain while you record.
On-Device Transcription
Whisper, in every model size from 40 MB to the most accurate, plus NVIDIA Parakeet as a second engine covering 25 languages. Live as people speak, or deferred until the call ends on lighter hardware.
Private Meeting-Notes AI
A local model reads the finished transcript and writes the summary, the decisions, and the action items with owners — grounded only in what was said, and never sent anywhere.
Project Memory
Meetings group into projects. One living overview document stays current after each call, chat answers from your own transcripts, and semantic plus full-text search reaches every meeting you have ever recorded.
Your Data, Your Disk
Per-line audio replay, export to Markdown, SRT and JSON, optional at-rest encryption with a password you set, and audio that auto-deletes on a schedule or stays forever. A folder you can move, back up or delete.

And two things nobody else sells

Discord Real-Names Kit
Your own bot joins the voice channel as a visible participant and receives one track per person, so every line carries a real name by construction. Everywhere else, on-device speaker matching splits the Others channel into speakers you name once and it recognises again.Answers: "Will I be able to tell who said what?"
Meeting-Notes Prompt Pack
Style presets for the summary — pick one for a standup, a client call or an interview — or write your own prompt and keep it.Answers: "Will the notes come out in the shape I actually need?"

Refunds

We do not offer a voluntary money-back guarantee. Refund rights required by law still apply. Stripe is the merchant of record and may issue refunds at its discretion to resolve disputes within 60 days of purchase. Read Stripe's refund policy.

Direct purchases are for customers in the United States only.

How you get it

  1. Pay. Stripe handles the card, shows the price in your currency and adds the tax. Stripe is the merchant of record, so it also owns the refund decision — within 60 days of purchase.
  2. Get your licence key. It is shown on the page you land on straight after paying — copy it somewhere safe. That key is the whole of what you bought.
  3. Get the installer with that key, on every computer you own or control. There is no limit on how often, and every 1.x update is included.

Your first Monday with Zerds

  1. Install it and open whatever you take calls in — Teams, Zoom, Meet, a browser tab. The first recording downloads a transcription model once (about 830 MB by default); every recording after that starts instantly.
  2. Press Record. Take the call. Press Stop.
  3. Read the summary, the decisions and the action items, and paste them wherever they need to go.

That's the whole workflow. The settings exist; you don't need them on day one.

Your licence

One person, personal use, on every computer you own or control — macOS, Windows and Linux.

What it replaces

A subscription notetaker at ~$20 a month costs around $720 over three years. Zerds is one payment. The comparison assumes a rate you should check against whatever you are actually paying — the point is the shape of the cost, not the exact figure.

What it needs

  • macOS 13+ on Apple Silicon, Windows 10 or 11 on x64, or Linux on x64.
  • Disk space for the models you choose — roughly 40 MB to 2.9 GB for transcription, and more again if you use the local summarisation model.
  • A microphone. System audio needs no separate permission on Windows; macOS asks once, and Linux uses PipeWire or PulseAudio.
  • A GPU helps and is not required; CPU-only machines use deferred transcription.

Not sure? Check your machine

Before you buy

Will it run on my machine?

Windows 10 or 11 on x64. Transcription is the demanding part, and how fast it goes depends on your CPU and whether there is a GPU to use. The hardware check reads what your browser can see and gives you a straight answer.

Is it really one payment?

Yes — one payment, no subscription, no seat count.

What happens to my recordings?

They stay in a folder on your disk, alongside a SQLite database holding the transcripts and search index. You can move that folder, encrypt the database, export any session, set audio to auto-delete on a schedule, or delete the lot. Nothing is uploaded, so there is no second copy anywhere to worry about.

Which platforms does it run on?

macOS, Windows and Linux — all three today, and all three in beta. One purchase covers every build; the licence is per person, not per platform, so installing on your laptop and your desktop is the same purchase.

It's in beta. Here's what that means.

Zerds runs on macOS, Windows and Linux. All three are in beta.

  • You pay once, now, and every 1.x update is included — beta does not mean a higher price later for the same version.
  • Bugs are likely. Report them and I will fix them; that is most of what I do with this product right now.
  • We do not offer a voluntary money-back guarantee. Refund rights required by law still apply. Stripe is the merchant of record and may issue refunds at its discretion to resolve disputes within 60 days of purchase.
  • Your recordings are unaffected by any of it. They are files on your disk, in formats you can open without Zerds.

One purchase, every platform

Buying once gets you all three builds. We'll point you at the one for the machine you're on; the others are yours too.

  • Windows 10 or 11 · x64 Per-app and system-audio capture.
  • macOS 13+ · Apple Silicon Metal-accelerated transcription.
  • Linux · x64 PipeWire or PulseAudio for capture.
